King Ontario 1,006 Sq. Ft. Garage Flake Floor Project

This large residential garage project in King, Ontario covers 1,006 sq. ft. of concrete flooring. The goal is to create a garage environment that feels as considered as the rest of the property: clean, durable, visually consistent, and practical for regular vehicle and household use. A floor of this scale needs more than a decorative finish.
It needs a system built around proper concrete preparation, compatible repair work, and a coating assembly selected to perform as one complete surface. Epoxy Boss begins by mechanically preparing the slab through diamond grinding. The process works into surface imperfections and creates a CSP3 concrete profile, providing the texture needed for the resinous system to establish a strong mechanical bond.
Areas requiring attention are prepared for compatible polyurea/urethane repair materials before the coating layers begin. Once the concrete is ready, the full-broadcast flake system is designed to transform the visual character of the entire garage. The result is intended to be a continuous architectural surface rather than bare concrete divided into separate working zones.
The specified system is a full-broadcast Armadillo decorative flake floor, built in layers over mechanically prepared concrete. After the slab is diamond-ground to the required CSP3 profile and surface imperfections are prepared for repair, a tinted resinous base coat is installed to create the bonding layer for the decorative system.
The Armadillo flake blend is then broadcast to full coverage, creating a dense, multi-tone finish across the full 1,006 sq. ft. area. This full-coverage application gives the garage visual depth and a more forgiving appearance for a space that sees regular day-to-day use.
After the decorative layer is refined, the system is sealed with a low/zero-VOC polyaspartic topcoat containing fine aluminum oxide for improved slip resistance. The topcoat protects the flake layer and creates a sealed surface that is easier to maintain than untreated concrete.
The project demonstrates the preparation-first approach behind every Epoxy Boss garage floor: concrete condition is addressed first, then the coating system is built in deliberate layers for appearance, adhesion, and practical use.
