Epoxy Boss was contacted to assess a recently installed decorative flake garage floor that showed widespread visual inconsistency, localized wet or tacky areas, irregular sheen and questionable termination at the garage entrance. Approximately five days after the original installation, sections of the coating had not developed an acceptable service-ready condition. Our technical assessment documented the symptoms, mapped the affected areas and evaluated the existing system, surface-preparation evidence, threshold detail and replacement requirements.

Epoxy Boss recommended complete mechanical removal instead of covering or spot-patching the defective coating. The remediation included removal using specialized PCD tooling, inspection of the exposed concrete, repair of cracks and imperfections with compatible urethane/polyurea material, diamond grinding to a continuous CSP-3-equivalent profile and correction of the garage threshold. The replacement specification included a compatible primer, pigmented resin receiver coat, full-broadcast Armadillo decorative flake and a UV-stable polyaspartic clear topcoat with fine aluminum oxide for additional traction. A matching 2-inch vertical flake detail was specified around the perimeter.
