When Castone Construction brought us in for the Supplements King location in Hamilton, the challenge wasn’t just installing a floor - it was delivering a surface that could match both the pace of retail operations and the intensity of the brand experience.

The space started with a standard concrete slab - structurally sound, but dusty, visually flat, and inconsistent in finish. Left untreated, this type of surface quickly becomes a liability in a retail setting. It’s prone to:

• Concrete dusting and surface breakdown
• Staining from spills and foot traffic
• Uneven wear under shelving and equipment
• Ongoing maintenance issues

But beyond performance, the real gap was brand alignment.

Supplements King stores are built around energy, presentation, and visual impact. The floor isn’t just a surface — it’s part of the customer experience. A dull, unfinished slab would immediately undermine that identity. Castone needed a solution that could:

To meet both performance and design demands, we installed a multi-layer metallic epoxy flooring system built specifically for high-traffic commercial environments.

We began with mechanical surface preparation using diamond grinding, removing surface contaminants and opening the concrete pores to create the proper profile for maximum adhesion. This step is critical - it ensures the coating system bonds properly and prevents premature failure.

Next, we completed targeted crack repair and surface refinement, eliminating imperfections and creating a smooth, uniform substrate. This provided a flawless foundation for the coating system and ensured consistency across the entire 1,080 sq ft space.

With the surface prepared, we applied a 100% solids tinted epoxy basecoat, installed at the proper thickness to deliver:

• Structural strength
• Strong adhesion
• Rich color depth

The defining feature of the system came with the metallic epoxy layer. Using controlled flow and free-pour techniques, we created a dynamic, three-dimensional finish with movement and depth. This high-gloss surface enhances light reflectivity and delivers the bold, modern aesthetic that aligns perfectly with the Supplements King brand.

To complete the system, we applied a satin-finish polyurethane topcoat, providing:

• Resistance to abrasion and foot traffic
• Protection against chemicals and spills
• Long-term durability
• Easy cleaning and maintenance for retail operations
