The client needed more than just a clean finish; they were after a tough, chemical-resistant coating that could handle everything from oil and grease to tire traffic and washdowns. Slip resistance was also a key priority, but not in a one-size-fits-all way. The wash bay, mechanical room and restroom all required different grip levels to meet safety and usage needs. The concrete was in workable shape with a few cracks, but nothing that couldn’t be handled through proper prep. We delivered a full flake system designed specifically for commercial use and heavy-duty conditions. After diamond grinding and repairing all minor cracks, we applied a tinted polyurethane basecoat and broadcast the Rosebud flake blend across the entire 2,350 sq ft surface. To meet the client’s custom slip-resistance needs, we adjusted the topcoat formulas: aluminum oxide was used in the restroom for safety, quartz was added in the wash bay for maximum traction under wet conditions and the mechanical room received coated 4" verticals wherever accessible for extra protection. Everything was sealed with a high-performance polyaspartic topcoat, ensuring the floor resists chemicals, water and wear without compromising on style or safety.
