Commercial Concrete Floor Renovation for DDM Bin Fabrication in Scarborough, Ontario

On April 14, 2023, Epoxy Boss Canada completed a commercial concrete flooring project for DDM Bin Fabrication in Scarborough, Toronto, Ontario.
DDM Bin Fabrication specializes in manufacturing and repairing steel bins used in construction, waste handling, landscaping, and other industrial applications. The company's operations require practical facilities that support its manufacturing and service activities.
This Epoxy Boss project focused on concrete flooring within the building's interior service and utility areas, including spaces containing washroom fixtures, plumbing, framed partitions, and equipment access points.
The scope documented in the project photographs included mechanical concrete surface preparation, detailed work around existing building features, and installation of a decorative grey flake flooring finish.
Unlike an open warehouse slab, these interior spaces presented a more detailed installation environment, where walls, doorways, partitions, plumbing, and smaller floor areas influenced how the work needed to be completed.
The result was a coordinated decorative floor finish across the renovated areas.
Before the flooring work, photographs documented exposed concrete with previous surface treatments, visible discolouration, and irregular patches of older material.
Some areas retained portions of a reddish existing floor finish. Other sections showed variations in the concrete surface after preparation.
The building interior included concrete block walls, wooden framing, plumbing fixtures, doorways, and service equipment.
These conditions made the project different from a conventional residential garage floor installation.
A commercial renovation must account for the existing substrate while also protecting or working around permanent building elements.
For Epoxy Boss, the preparation stage was especially important because a new flooring system should not rely on loose, contaminated, or otherwise unsuitable surface material.
The photographs document the original conditions and subsequent preparation, although they do not establish the precise causes of previous surface deterioration.
