Projects Case Study

Full-Flake Garage Floor + Verticals

Preparation-First Project
Mechanical surface preparation, localized repair, a full decorative flake floor and matching vertical-wall and step treatment.

Project Problem

The concrete needed a complete system

The existing garage required more than a decorative surface change. The concrete needed mechanical profiling, localized correction and a system planned around South Florida humidity, slab-moisture considerations and regular vehicle use. The perimeter walls and steps also needed a coordinated finish rather than being left as exposed concrete.

Florida Garage Conditions

  • The coating could not rely on appearance alone.
  • Surface preparation and localized repairs had to precede coating.
  • Floor, steps and vertical edges required coordinated treatment.
  • The final system needed texture for routine garage traffic.

Project Solution

The same preparation-first assembly

Diamond Grinding

Mechanically prepare the concrete to approximately a CSP 3 profile.

Localized Repairs

Expose and fill imperfections using polyurea or urethane as required.

Tinted Basecoat

Install resin chemistry selected for substrate and site conditions.

Full Flake Broadcast

Broadcast the gray decorative flake blend to full coverage.

Verticals + Steps

Continue the coordinated flake system onto prepared perimeter details.

Polyaspartic Topcoat

Seal the assembly and add fine aluminum oxide for surface texture.

Completed Result

The completed installation created one coordinated decorative finish across the floor, steps and selected vertical surfaces. The result was built on mechanical preparation and localized repairs, then completed with full flake coverage and a polyaspartic topcoat.
