- PREPARATION Before our arrival unit for the project should be cleaned out. all the items, such as vehicles, tools, and personal belongings should be removed. This allows us to have a clean and accessible workspace
- GRINDING THE FLOOR Instead of using an etching solution, we employ a concrete grinder with a diamond grinding wheel. This process helps us achieve a smooth and even surface by removing any irregularities, stains. or previous coatings on the concrete floor. Grinding the concrete also provides better adhesion for the epoxy coating.
- REPAIR After grinding, we inspect the floor for cracks, pits, or other damage. If necessary, we fill any cracks or pits with epoxy filler or a concrete patching compound. This step ensures that the surface is repaired and ready for the epoxy coating
- CLEANING To eliminate any remaining dust, dirt. or debris, we thoroughly clean the floor using a degreaser and scrub brush. This cleaning process ensures a pristine surface for the epoxy coating to adhere to.
- EPOXY PREPARATION We carefully follow the instructions provided by the epoxy manufacturer to mix the two components of the epoxy coating, the resin, and the hardener. This ensures the proper ratio and a well-blended mixture.
- EPOXY APPLICATION We begin by applying the epoxy to the edges of the garage using brushes or rollers. ensuring complete coverage around any columns or obstructions. Next. we pour the epoxy onto the floor in manageable sections and spread it evenly using rollers or squeegees. While the epoxy coating is still wet. we are sprinkling the flakes onto the surface. This process is done in small sections to maintain a consistent and smooth finish.
- CURING AND FINISHING TOUCHES We allow the epoxy to cure according to the manufacturer's instructions. typically requiring 24 to 48 hours before walking on it. For added protection and traction, we may apply a clear topcoat or a non-slip additive as a finishing touch.
